Beer in Downtown Gloucester Virginia

Gloucester and the Middle Peninsula of Virginia are rural and semi-rural communities. So you would not think of these locations as ‘party towns’. But there is a lot going on that is attractive to people who love to have a good time and who appreciate a good brew. The seventh annual Main Street Blues and Brews is a case in point. It will be held from 2-7 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 on the Tabb House lawn across from the fire station on Main Street in downtown Gloucester. It will be held rain or shine.

The Brews

Over 20 different handmade microbrews will be available for beer tastings. Hard-cider, wine and gluten-free options will be available too.  In addition, there will be food options. This year the Ward Oyster Company of Gloucester is doing an oyster roast as part of the occasion. And there will be other food vendors onsite.

The Blues

Live music featuring Mercy Creek, Sarah Williams, the Bobby ‘BlackHat’ Band will play from 2:00 PM until 5:45. Local favorite, the Ballast Band will wrap up the event. These are great musical groups.

Tickets

Tickets are $25 at the gate. Tickets include a souvenir beer glass, six brew craft taste tickets, and all-day access to the event. Additional beer tastings will be available for purchase. The special oyster roast tickets for $35 include all the above plus a dozen oysters. Additional oysters will be available for purchase.
